What is happening, Reggae Rebels? It's been a hot minute! And when I say hot, I mean cold and sort of raining a lot and there have been fireworks around. But what's up with you?
We had a super fun time at a new venue and we've got to tell you about it. We've been trying to arrange something at The Land Rover Club for YONKS, so to finally make it happen was a real plus for us. We slotted it in at fairly short notice, so we're really appreciative to those of you who bought tickets and made it along in the short time we were able to advertise. I don't know what it is, but you always turn up and turn out for us, and we really appreciate that in our humble lil hearts.

The night began with Grandad being bitted by speaker and needing a makeshift DIY Man Plaster. We don't believe in bad omens so we just said 'Oh no, Grandad' and 'Bad speaker' and told him to put a complaint in to Health and Safety, which swiftly prompted an eye roll and middle finger from Will.

Anna had the lurgy most of the week, but she wasn't going to let that stop her. She's truly an unstoppable force, which is great for the band and for most people around her, unless you want her to stop, which is impossible and will leave you feeling disappointed.
Having Harry on drums means Steppa, the little wee doggo, and he is the best sort of mascot for anything. We love that fluff ball. He's such a confident doggy now, as well. He's come a long way from where he started in our lives and that's all thanks to having a wonderful Harry in his life. We all feel it - I know you do too! Love that drummer.
We haven't seen much of Paul this year, unfortunately. He's been busy with other projects and his (God Forbid) personal and social life. But we did manage to get hold of him for the Land Rover gig, so it was great to catch up in the few weeks before whilst in rehearsals and to share a stage again.

Skaman Ade was DJing for this event, and it's always a good night when that happens. His repertoire certainly suites our own - you get some nice, unusual choices that make you go 'Ooo'. We missed his lovely lady Wife, but he looked after us and we tried our best to look after him, too. Which also included me jumping off stage half way through soundcheck to show him what my in-ears sound like. Most bands use wedges for their monitoring needs - that's the bit that they have being played to them whilst they're on stage, so that they know when to play and how loud or quiet and what not. But because we're spoilt by dB Acoustics, we get in-ear monitors for most of the band, and everyone's monitors are slightly different, depending on what they want to hear more or less of for their own purposes. For example, I like a bit more kick drum and snare than the rest of the drum kit, bit more of the bass, heavy on lead vocals and heavy on keyboard, plus myself (obviously) and slightly less than myself of Anna's sax. That suits me perfectly, although in the second set I usually ask for more Angus. And because me and Ade were talking about that before soundcheck, I had to go and show him! It's weird because it sounds totally different to what comes out of the speakers!
It was lovely to see Abby and her mom out for a boogie. Abby is the wife of our darling Teebs, and we're hella invested in their marriage because we were there too! Abby is a wicked cool person with amazing hair and tattoos and a love for dogs, who also is an incredible horse rider, and spends a lot of the time we pinch Teebs doing what she loves and showing off her skills with horseriding. So it was a rare gem to see Abby me babby, even if she did mainly come to see Steppa (we understand)!

There were lots of friendly faces with us, including our Marcus Copesta, who obviously lit the night up. I don't know how he manages it, but he always gets a microphone from somewhere! Thank you for the big up and shout out of the band members at the beginning of the second set. Love you, Marcus!
It was so cool to see you all, and once again, we really appreciate your support. We played a nice first set which, unusually for us, we started with She's Royal. We joined some of the songs up so they flowed nicely and we think it went well. We've also been working on our dancing at the front to make sure we're all coordinated and you get a good show (credit to Anna for that one). I think it makes a huge difference to what you're watching when it all ties together like that.

Our next public performance is at The BiGG Theatre in Biggleswade, and we're planning some really nice little moments for that one. We hope to see some of you there!
With huge thanks to The Land Rover Sports and Social club for an incredible night. What a massive room!
