We like Pina Coladas: An incredible festival in Northwich

It was all about the pineapples, the rum and the sunny-day vibes at Pina Colada Festival.

We were asked by the lovely Nikki to play at the end of the day on the main stage, and so we travelled up to Northwich on Saturday to join in the fun.

The town was alive with visitors, colours and atmosphere, and the crowd for the main stage was definitely up for a party.

We met the sound production team at Hipswing, who were very professional and also very lovely, and we got a plan together. We enjoyed the lovely music from the beautiful lady playing Steel Pans.

The whole band hung out back stage. This gig we had no Angus, but some of you may know Tom (previously RudeSix) who stepped in for him and did an incredible job. We also had Owen on drums, Charlie Moore on the bass and the usual suspects everywhere else!

We played a lively set that featured lots of commercial things like 'She's Royal' and The Dancehall Medley, as well as our favourite renditions like 'Cleopatra' and 'Hotel California'.

The crowd were incredible! They were just set on having a beautiful day in the sun and soaking up the sun and the Pina Coladas! People with pineapples were everywhere.

In the break, we waited for the final parade of the day from Katumba drumming movement band from Liverpool. We had a chat after their parade and they were lovely people. I talked to them about Birmingham's samba drumming group Oya Batucada , as Anna and I have previously attended Liverpool's Brazilica Festival with them on a number of occasions and had a great time. Unfortunately it didn't go ahead this year. I sincerely hope to see it's return in the future!

After the parade conclusion, we piled back on stage for a smaller second set than we'd planned - because schedules are never accurate! - and we dosed the crowd with some serious medley vibes and some incredible playing from Tom, who we put on the spot for Hotel California's solo. Smashed it, he did! There were dance offs in the Dancehall Medley - shout out to our Northwich friend we made!

It was just a wonderful experience with great people around us.

We're having a relaxing week this week, before we attend our favourite festival of the year - Regfest, which is a private festival. We plan to absolutely party hard. We've also released the second of the professionally recorded videos we did this year - Picture on the Wall (NaturalItes cover) because it really sums up the mood in the room with us at the moment! It's a feel good tune that never fails to fetch a smile, and that's how we're feeling right now!

Sincere thanks to Nikki and everyone at VisitNorthwich for inviting us to be a part of such an amazing event. We even got our pictures taken with Mr Pineapple.

Many thanks again to Karl Brooks Photography for so many brilliant pictures of our performance.

Our next public performance is at The Night Owl in Digbeth on September 8th, and we really hope to see so many of you there to close summer with.
